Training & Capacity Building
UJ provides mandatory annual training on environmental sustainability for all staff — faculty and professional staff alike. Coordinated by the Sustainability Office and CELT, topics cover climate change and institutional responsibility, energy and water conservation, waste management, green procurement, and UJ's own environmental data including its 16 MW solar system and net-zero targets by 2050. Attendance is monitored and linked to performance evaluations. Students are also regularly engaged through workshops and seminars on cleaner production, energy efficiency, and climate change in collaboration with national institutions.

The Sustainability Office, in coordination with CELT, delivers mandatory annual training on the environmental, social, and governance dimensions of sustainability to all university staff — covering the UN SDGs, ESG frameworks, and the GHG Protocol.

SDG Integration in Teaching — Faculty Development
Faculty development workshops equip academic staff with the tools to embed sustainability literacy and SDG-related learning outcomes into their teaching, assessment, and curriculum design across all disciplines.

Disability Awareness & Inclusive Practice
Awareness workshops and seminars raise understanding of disability rights among students and staff throughout the academic year — supporting UJ's commitment to accessible, inclusive education.

EU-Funded Curriculum Development Training
UJ faculty have received training through Erasmus+ and Tempus projects in modernising renewable energy and sustainability curricula, including online laboratory development and interdisciplinary programme design.

Community & Partner Training
The Sustainability Office collaborates with external partners, community organisations, and industry stakeholders on evidence-based training tied to the SDGs — positioning UJ as a regional hub for sustainability knowledge.
